Le Lude, a wine farm in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley of South Africa’s Western Cape, follows an ethos committed to its founding family and the crafting of naturally bottle-fermented sparkling wines, known as Cap Classique. Le Lude specialises in Cap Classique, ensuring that grapes expressing site and terroir are coaxed into a premium product of unrivalled excellence. Innovation in the cellar and the restless,
un-comprising pursuit of perfection in the bottle have made Le Lude one of the world’s most exciting new producers
of Cap Classique, a wine becoming internationally renowned for finesse, elegance and refinement.
Emma grew up on a wine farm in Robertson and always knew it was something she wanted to pursue. She loves being outside, so farm life comes naturally. Apart from being a passionate winemaker, Emma is also an avid horse rider. She holds a BSc in Winemaking from the University of Stellenbosch which really drilled in the facets of winemaking – a complex and beautiful blend of chemistry, geology, oenology and viticulture. She has worked harvests as winery assistant and intern, both in South Africa and overseas, before settling into her position at Le Lude in 2017.
