In this video we are sharing our memories of our first experience with Reindeers in Dec 2021.
We spend 6 days in The northern Lights village, Saariselkä in Lapland, Finland. Every day we had one or two activities. In this video we are presenting our ride towards Santa Claus' Office on Santa Claus' Reindeer sleigh.
In traditional festive legend and popular culture, Santa Claus's reindeer are said to pull a sleigh through the night sky to help Santa Claus deliver gifts to children on Christmas Eve.
The reindeer (Rangifer tarandus), also known as the caribou in North America,[3] is a species of deer with circumpolar distribution, native to Arctic, subarctic, tundra, boreal, and mountainous regions of northern Europe, Siberia, and North America. (Ref: Wikipedia)
This video is exclusively about the Reindeer Safari on Sleigh (Our meeting with Santa Claus is not included here).
We were told not to get close to them. However, we found them very friendly and one of them was rubbing his Head on my shoulders all the time :-).
Another beatiful aspect of our safari was to see the snow. Everything was covered with snow. We felt like being in a fairytale world :-)
We hope this video will inspire you to visit Finland and have a ride on Reindeer Sleigh.
