During the event, CSBA Governmental Relations staff responded to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s announcement, answered member questions on school funding, and reviewed CSBA advocacy priorities for the 2024–25 state budget cycle including, but not limited to:
- Protecting the local flexibility within the Local Control Funding Formula and maintaining LCFF funding levels
- Supporting student mental health
- Rebenching Prop 98 to support the full rollout of transitional kindergarten
- Providing small districts and county offices of education additional flexibility to address their distinct needs
- Helping local educational agencies address staffing shortages
