Ram Nath Kovind-led panel submits report on One Nation One Election. On March 14, a committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind submitted its report on the 'One Nation, One Election' initiative to President Droupadi Murmu. According to reports, the committee recommended the creation of a mechanism to restore the cycle of simultaneous elections. Committee further suggested that within 100 days of simultaneous elections, municipality and panchayat polls should be conducted. Apart from Ram Nath Kovind, the panel included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, and senior advocate Harish Salve, among others.
