Will flexing between sets help you build muscle faster? Ultimately gaining muscle comes down to maximizing mechanical tension on the muscle fibers by training close to muscular failure. Flexing against no resistance is not going to help you stimulate muscle growth any faster. If anything it might be slightly counterproductive to your bodybuilding goals by creating unnecessary fatigue in between sets. The purpose of your rest between sets is to *rest* so that you can perform your next muscle building set at your full potential for optimal hypertrophy stimulation.
