In the HAI fall conference keynote discussion, Jodi Forlizzi, the Herbert A. Simon Professor in Computer Science and HCII and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, School of Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, discussed approaches to developing AI that has a positive impact in the real world. We should think of AI like fire, she says. "If we manage it well, it will be a global force for good; but without foresight, AI will burn in ways that we cannot control."
