This album in particular, to me at least, next to Terrorist Union #63, is the "definition" of the Rail Yard Ghosts. While being what would sound the closest to how they would busking, it also has high enough production that listening is not very hard on the ears. Medicinal Whiskey consists of many tales of the Ghosts' endeavors in train hopping, spanging, busking, drinking, smoking, the things surrounding (sometimes selective) homelessness, homebumming, and the effects of capitalism in the United States. This album came out 9 years ago as of 2020. Throughout the album, the term "g*psy" is thrown in as a synonym for "nomad" or "traveler." Even today it is widely unknown that the word "g*psy" is actually a derogatory slur for the Roma, and it definitely wasn't in 2011. Sign of the times.



My favorite track is Tall Tail Tren (de Amerykanah).
