What happened to Joseph, Jesus' father?
Well, we know Joseph is mentioned, of course, at the birth of Jesus, and we see Joseph mentioned in Luke chapter 2, where Joseph and Mary had left Jesus behind in Jerusalem.
And then we see a reference to Joseph in Matthew 13 as the carpenter. And then we don't really hear anything else about Joseph. The Bible doesn't record his death or his end of life, but we do have church tradition.
The Catholic Church, for example, holds that Joseph had likely passed away before Jesus's ministry. And then the Eastern Orthodox Church also affirms that Joseph had died, but Mary and Jesus were able to be with him in his passing.
And that's all we really know about Joseph.
