The new Echo Dot, Echo Dot with clock and Echo Dot Kid's edition were announced on September 24th and the first one to be released is the Echo Dot.
The new Echo Dot features a new spherical design with similar fabric to the 3rd generation. It features a better speaker. The new Echo Dot comes in Charcoal, Glacier White and Twilight Blue.
From my first impressions:
-Sound seems a little better, but not by much compared to the 3rd gen
-Tap to snooze feature is a nice addition
-New design is larger and more obtrusive
-Power adapter is larger than last generation and will take up more room
-Power adapter is white on the charcoal model

Personally I still think the 3rd generation is worth a look. During Prime Day they were going for $18.99 and if you wanted a couple for your home, that's the way to go. The prices of these will go down during Black Friday/Cyber Monday so be sure to keep your eyes on these.
