All eyes were on 17-year-old Cooper Flagg during Monday's scrimmages. The USA Select Team, serving as the sparring partner for the Paris Olympic-bound Team USA, is filled with young NBA talent: Brandon Miller (Charlotte), Keegan Murray (Sacramento), Amen Thompson (Houston), Jaime Jaquez Jr. (Miami), and Trey Murphy, who's about to land a huge contract with the Pelicans. And that's just a few names.
But it was Flagg, the Duke commit fresh out of high school, who stole the show.
He dazzled in the parts of two scrimmages the media witnessed, showcasing a smooth shooting stroke, a keen feel for the game, and remarkable athleticism.
"I’m confident in my ability and my skill," Flagg said. "At the end of the day, I’m confident in who I am and what I do."
