With Navaratri round the corner a fasting recipe is must. We already have seen lot many fasting recipes like sabudana vade, sabudana appe, farali kachori, are few of them. Here is a little different farali recipe appe. It is a very easy and simple recipe. These don’t need lot many ingredients. These can be made from the ingredients easily available in your pantry. These turn out nice, crispy and spongy. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 1 cup Sama ke chaval / Vrat ke chaval
• 1/4 cup Sabudana / Sago
• A little Water
• Cumin seeds (Optional)
• Finely chopped Green chili
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• 1/2 tsp Eno fruit salt
• Oil
• Ghee
• Salt to taste
• Finely chopped fresh Coconut
• Chopped Green chili
• Chopped Ginger
• Salt to taste
• Sugar
• 1 tsp roasted Peanut powder
• 1 tsp Ghee
• Cumin seeds
Method:
• Take sama ke chaval, sabudana in a bowl and wash it really good 2-3 times.
• Soak it together in enough water for 2 hours.
• Drain all the water from it and transfer it into a blender jar.
• Blend it into paste without adding any water first.
• Add water and blend again into thick paste.
• The consistency of batter should be like idly batter.
• Transfer the batter into a bowl and rest it for about 10 minutes.
• Add cumin seeds, green chili, salt, coriander leaves and mix well.
• You can add grated potato or grated sweet potato or grated pumpkin if you want into the
batter.
• Add Eno fruit salt and mix in quickly.
• Heat up appe aptra and add oil in each mold.
• Add batter in each mold.
• Cover and cook on medium for about 3-4 minutes.
• When lower side is cooked well after about 3-4 minutes add a little ghee on each appe and
flip it over.
• You can use oil in place of ghee.
• When appe are cooked well from other side too take them out into a dish.
• Appe are ready.
• For making farali chutney take fresh coconut into a blender jar and add green chili, ginger,
salt, sugar, roasted peanut powder, coriander leaves.
• You can soak desiccated coconut in hot water for about 10-15 minutes and use it for chutney
in place of fresh coconut.
• You can skip coriander leaves if you don’t want.
• Blend everything together dry first and then add a little water.
• Blend everything together into chutney.
• Transfer the chutney into a bowl.
• For tadka heat up ghee in tadka pan and add cumin seeds.
• When cumin seeds splatter add the tadka on chutney and mix well.
• Farali chutney is ready.
• You can have farali appe as it is or them with chutney.
