Hundreds of French and European citizens are being evacuated from Niger after last week's military coup.
Military flights have been laid on by the French government - following attacks on its embassy over the weekend by crowds of coup supporters.
The former French colony is situated in the heart of the Sahal and was seen as a key western ally in the fight against jihadists in the region.
