The Election Commission (EC) today announced the election dates for the Karnataka Assembly polls 2023. The elections will be held on May 10 and the result will be announced May 13. The tenure of Karnataka 224- member Assembly is ending on May 24, 2023. Currently, ruling BJP has 119 MLAs, Congress has 75 and JD(S) 28. It is expected to be a close contest between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, with the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) playing a possible kingmaker role.
