The route of the twelfth edition of the Absa Cape Epic, taking place from 15 to 22 March 2015, will be as challenging as previous years. Both local and international mountain biking enthusiasts will be taking on the demanding eight day mountain bike adventure of 748km with 16 000m of climbing from the University of Cape Town to Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville.
The route, which changes significantly each year, will lead 1 200 cyclists through vast distances of virgin territory, previously untouched by the race. With its challenging and exhilarating landscapes, the stage locations of the University of Cape Town, Oak Valley Wine Estate in Elgin, HTS Drostdy in Worcester and Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Wellington await the most prestigious mountain bike stage race in the world; before riders finish for the first time at Meerendal Wine Estate which has been the prologue venue for the past 3 years.
