I am often approached by new students, or on social media, about how I created the whites in my watercolor painting. The usual expectation is that I used an opaque white like gouache, but that is something I rarely do. My whites are the white of the paper, and in this video I cover various techniques you can use to do the same.

These exercises are what I used to put my beginner face-to-face students through, before allowing them to progress to more advanced subjects.
