This training will teach new users how to use the ASQ-3, a parent - completed child development screening tool, to identify developmental concerns during the crucial first five years of life.
About the presenters:
Sujata Bansal is an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) Specialist with WestEd. She co-leads the development of the statewide IECMH Consultation Training and Certification Program.
Sujata has 25 years of experience in teaching, training, providing direct therapy, consulting and program administration. Her areas of expertise include early care and education, contract & grant management, training & facilitation and early childhood mental health. Prior to joining WestEd, she spent 18 years at First 5 Alameda County where she led the development of a county-wide ECMH Consultation program as well as playing an integral role in the development and implementation of Alameda County's QRIS program. Sujata received a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California and she is endorsed as an IFECMHS and RPF II. Sujata is conversationally fluent in Spanish and Hindi.
Zulema is the Pediatric Quality Improvement Specialist on the Pediatric Care Coordination team at First 5 Alameda, providing training, technical assistance, and quality improvement support for Medi-Cal serving pediatric offices in Alameda County to increase developmental screening, ACEs screening, and/or increase referrals to Help Me Grow. Zulema has 15 years of experience focused on strengthening and enhancing services available to children and families. She has provided training, coaching, consultation, and technical assistance in a variety of community settings. For the most recent years, Zulema has been the Developmental Screening Manager for Help Me Grow SF-Support for Families, which is a system of support for pregnant women, caregivers with new babies and families with young children with developmental delays and disabilities. She has also worked for High-Risk Infancy Interagency Council as the Special Needs Project Program Manager, a demonstration site project that introduced family-centered developmental screening in early childhood settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from San Francisco State University.
