We were honored to have Sheikh Dr. Anas Al-Esawi, Imam & Preacher at Gilani Mosque with us on the occasion of the Seventh Annual Commemoration of the #YazidiGenocide.
Sheikh Dr. Anas Al-Esawi shared his thoughts:
"It is very important to overpass all the barriers that were erupted between the Iraqi society especially youth. Like the Sufi masters say, it should acknowledge that this heinous crime was committed against the Yazidis, all those perpetrators should be held accountable.”
"I call upon the formation of the Iraqi government to create a committee to take in charge this cause, and to secure the safe and dignified return of the Yazidis. I call upon His Excellency Prime Minister to honor his promises and all those components that were forcibly displaced should be provided assistance.”
"We need first to condemn ISIS atrocities committed against Iraqi people in general and Yazidi in particular. I call upon all the religious leaders to condemn this Takfiri mentalities and nothing can really scatter the Iraqi fabric."
Speech transcripts are available in the English and Arabic languages on the Yazda website, featuring the chronic challenges and crucial actions that need to be urgently addressed and facilitated, for the return of Yazidis to Sinjar.
