In a Sunday Instagram post, Harding announced his role as a mission specialist on OceanGate Expeditions' submarine, stating that challenging weather conditions are expected to make it the sole manned dive to the Titanic's wreck site this year.

The missing submersible is operated by OceanGate Expeditions, which offers deep-sea diving tours. The submersible went missing near Newfoundland, Canada, and had 96 hours of oxygen supply when it started its dive on Sunday. The Canadian and U.S. Coast Guards are involved in the search and rescue efforts.
