Bosnian government officials predicted on Saturday (7/10) that
the start of a countrywide truce, due to come into effect on
Tuesday, would be delayed by at least two days. Both the Bosnian
army and the Bosnian Serbs have been jockeying for positions on
the battlefield ahead of peace talks slated for the coming weeks,
first in Washington and then probably in Paris. The Bosnian army
said on Saturday its artillery guns had to open fire in order to
repulse a Bosnian Serb offensive in the region of Sanski Most.
