A total of 64 Chinese mainland's medalists at the Rio Olympics and athletes with outstanding performance are making a three-day visit to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The Chinese athletes, such as diving gold medalist Wu Minxia, table tennis gold medalist Ma Long, and swimmer Sun Yang, attended various events to promote the Olympic spirit and to help boost sports development in Hong Kong.
"People seem to have paid less attention to gold medals during this Olympic Games than in the previous ones. Instead, we emphasized more the spirit athletes show in the games. Thus, whether we got a gold or not, the persistence and the never-give-up spirit on the field is worthy of being followed," said Wu Minxia.
Chinese mainland Olympians arrived at Hong Kong on Saturday and will head to Macao Monday afternoon.
China has won 26 golds, 18 silvers and 26 bronzes at the Rio Olympics, ranking third in gold medal tally and second in total medal tally. More on: [ Ссылка ]
