According to news reports, the Chechen government is snatching-up members of the LGBT community, throwing them in jails and giving them the choice of either turning straight or being executed. In response, about 50 human rights activists gathered in Washington, D.C. to protest against the Chechen government and encourage the U.S. government to accept persecuted LGBT Chechens by way of immigration.
