From the country's capital, Maputo, the islands are more than 800 km away.
The Bazaruto National Reserve is a protected area of almost one and a half thousand square kilometers (the vast part is the ocean and an area of \u200b\u200b5 islands).
The population of the archipelago is not numerous - only about 4 thousand inhabitants, they are engaged in fishing and growing cereals.
