(10 Jul 2014) Bosnia will mark this week the 19th anniversary of the massacre of an estimated 8,000 Muslim men and boys of Srebrenica, who were killed by advancing Serb troops, led by General Ratko Mladic in July 1995.
One-hundred-and-seventy-five bodies were moved to the cemetery at the memorial centre in Potocari, some 10 kilometres (six miles) from Srebrenica, on Thursday.
Thousands of participants of the annual "March of Peace," the three-day walk from Nezuk to Srebrenica undertaken annually to commemorate the victims of the killings, arrived at memorial centre on Thursday.
Elvir Mustafic lost several members of his family during the attack on Srebrenica in 1995.
He said this was his first time taking part and thought of it as a "nice gesture" to his loved ones.
Many of the people marching were exhausted by the long walk, which coincided with the Muslim fasting period of Ramadan.
Participant Emir Kazic ran an "ultra-marathon" to Srebrenica all the way from Bihac in the west of the country, some 480 kilometres (298 miles).
"Even with all my Ramadan obligations, and fasting, I managed to survive this route that we took," Kazic said.
Families and relatives of the victims gathered to pray around the coffins as the final preparations for Friday's burial were underway.
