Deathspell Omega has expanded every limit there is to extreme metal over the last two decades. As mind boggling as their overall sound is, one of the things that makes them unique is their unmatched ability to write amazing melodies, and to use them as leitmotifs throughout a song, or sometimes an album. All DSO records are dark and heavy journeys that initially require endurance to really get something out of them, but as it is the case with this particular EP, what comes out of the other side is always way more than what you expect.
