Kansas City, MO, USA native Hermon Mehari competes in the semifinal round of the 2014 Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Trumpet Competition in Schoenberg Hall at UCLA. The Competition Band is Reginald Thomas (piano), Rodney Whitaker (bass) and Carl Allen (drums).
