The giant african land snail (Lissachatina fulica) is the biggest land snail on Earth. The adult snail is around 7 centimetres in height and 20 centimetres or more in length. In many places this snail is a pest of agriculture and households with the ability to transmit both human and plant pathogens. It is also keep as a pet in many countries.
