In this video form Beijing, I profile Cafe Flat White, a New Zealand brand which is doing very well in China. The company has several stores across Beijing, and is part of a wave of smaller independent coffee shops which are opening up across China. They are providing high quality espresso Coffee, in its traditional European form, rather than the large milky "big-brand" style of Starbucks.
There is a big premium placed on the milk content of a cup of coffee, due to the desirability and importance of dairy in China. In many cases this means a large cup of coffee from Starbucks in China will cost you the same as in Australia or New Zealand. In this video I look specifically at a smaller niche players like Cafe Flat White.
