About 7 World Trade Center and the phenomenon of light in an urban context. Mr. Carpenter is principal in James Carpenter Design Associates (JCDA) based in New York City. Some recent projects in which JCDA has contributed include: 7 World Trade Center, the first building reconstructed at the site since Sept. 11, 2001, design of the new Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, and the redesign of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Fulton Street Transit Center in New York.
