There is a lot of compelling reasons that the Nest Hub Max may be a better option then the smaller 7" companion or even other smart home displays/speakers. One of those things is a new feature announced at Google IO 2022 that works very well! It is called Look and Talk Feature which allows you to look at the display and it activates by performing face detection eliminating the need to say "Hey Google" !
BTW Google store has it on sale right now it would be a great father's day gift.
