Here is an easy solo jazz guitar arrangement written for the beautiful song, September in the Rain. This is a really nice and easy swing song to learn and play. The chords and the melody are very basic which allows you to fancy it up as much as you want or you can keep it very simple. In this video, I fancied up a little bit from the basic version which is on the PDF and also available as a video lesson on my Patreon page. On the last eight section here, I modulate it up a half step just to make it feel like it’s gets a little more exciting. And then I vamped on the I chord to the minor iv chord at the very end à la Frank Sinatra.
Some versions of the song that I really enjoy are Frank Sinatra, Dinah Washington, John Pizzarelli with George Shearing, and Roy Hargrove. Please feel free to share in the comments what your favorite versions are!
I have over 1000 lessons on my Patreon page which is my online music community. These are PDFs, arrangements, études, melodies with chords, theory, and bonus video lessons. Please consider joining my online music community exclusively on Patreon to have instant access to all of my materials.

I also offer online workshops and classes. Below is the next round starting up. I will be teaching this song in both my Intro to Solo Jazz Jazz Workshop and also my Frank Sinatra workshop.
This song is a part of my Mega Lesson series. Mega lessons are great way for the student to learn all aspects of a song, including: the basic melody, the embellished melody, the basic chords, embellished chords, chord melody arrangement and chord melody sewing ideas and “hacks”, and of course, some soloing and improvisation ideas from basic to more advance.
