Rewinding an electric motor is a detailed and complicated process. In this 'how to' video we take a look at the initial stages which include stripping out the old coils of the burnt-out motor.
Please note that this is NOT a comprehensive guide. Due to the vast amount of different motors and winding patterns, the rewinding process can vary greatly. However, it generally involves cutting the original windings out of the motor’s stator or armature and replacing them with new coils made from wire of the same basic type and gauge.
We will try to answer any relevant questions where possible.
