Ateenage Formula 4 driver has revealed he thought he'd never drive again after losing both legs in a horrific accident.Billy 'Whizz' Monger had always dreamed of being a Formula One driver. But he feared he'd never get there after having both of his lower legs amputated after he crashed his car at high speed during a race at Donington Park in Derby in April last year – just days before he turned 18.Less than a year later, he says he's preparing for a comeback as he got on the track in his specially-adapted vehicle.'All I wanted to do was to get through it and be alive,' Billy told BBC Breakfast.'There was a slight moment when I thought I wouldn't drive again.' But now, he is determined to return to racing next season.'It still doesn't change the dream, the dream stays the same that I want to be an F1 driver,' he said.Although admitting his mother is 'very nervous,' he adds: 'If I don't do it, what else am I going to do with my life?' This week, the Surrey teenager will drive at the Autosport International Event at the NEC Arena in Birmingham.Terry Grant, one of Britain's top stunt drivers, has been helping train Billy in his adapted car, which allows him to use a handheld lever to operate the brake.'The level of control that he's got now, for prosthetic legs, is just phenomenal,' he said of Billy's progress.
