The Nevada Department of Transportation is working on using all the good work that’s been done at the local level to inform a robust process for making decisions about how to use our limited resources. The goal is a “one stop shop” for transportation plans in Nevada; to integrate plans, like those produced by RTC, with our Transportation Asset Management Plan, our statewide Freight Plan, our Bicycle/Pedestrian plans, and numerous others. Previous statewide plans were policy documents. They did not go as far as setting up a performance based process for prioritization and decision making. This plan takes it one step further to start looking at our projects further out. One of the goals is to start identifying when or if we will get to those projects that are currently just listed as “long range.”
