Accurately adjusting your straps is a crucial step to ensuring proper fit and optimal comfort for ProKnee Model 0714/0714E Custom Fit Kneepads. Follow these steps to learn how:
ProKnee’s straps are located well below the knee joint to help eliminate uncomfortable pinching and circulation issues, so it is important to place the straps around your calf and ankle, not behind your knee joint. The best way to initially fix the pads to your personal fit is to loosen ALL the straps. (PLEASE NOTE: this is different than the way you used to fit them with our old buckle/velcro strap). Click in the ankle strap first and pull it as tight as comfortably possible. Then make it even tighter by unclicking and manually tightening the bottom strap 1-2 more inches by hand. This will essentially overtighten the bottom strap and prevent excessive twisting. IMPORTANT: you must then push the lock into the strap to properly secure your fit. We have found if the buckle is not used as designed, it WILL affect the preload memory of the lock. Next, click in the calf strap and pull the strap until the kneepad is pulled up (ie. the kneepad should NOT be pushing against your kneecap). Overtightening calf strap will create undue pressure on your kneecap. Don't forget to push that lock into the strap to secure it in position. You are now properly fitted for ProKnee custom fit kneepads!
