Port Harcourt Refinery to Begin Operations After Long Delay
The 210,000-barrel-per-day Port Harcourt refinery is set to begin operations by the end of July after multiple delays, according to Chief Ukadike Chinedu of the Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria. This start-up is expected to boost economic activities, lower petroleum prices, and ensure supply. The refinery, with a 60,000 BPD old plant and a 150,000 BPD new plant, completed upgrades last December. It had been shut down since March 2019 for repairs. Mele Kyari of NNPC Limited confirmed the late July operational start.
