The Kelso Sand Dunes are also called "The Singing Dunes", "Singing Sand", "The Booming Dunes", and I like "The Droning Dunes". They produce an amazing sound when the sand moves in a certain way. The sound reminds me of the sound of droning aircraft propellers. There are examples of the sound in the video. The Kelso Dunes are in southeastern California in the Mojave Desert, and a part of the Mojave National Preserve. They rise over 600 feet from the desert floor. They also offer a great view of the surrounding area. The hike can be a bit of a challenge because walking in loose sand can be rough. Many hikers describe it as "two steps forward, one step back". - Listen until the end of the video to hear the amazing sound these dunes make. Kelso is one of only 7 places in the USA that has sand dunes which make these kinds of sounds. - 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻 -
