20's Charleston. Face to face position. Tons of stylings and technique points. Follows ramp up their engagement with the left hand/arm on the lead. Both lead and follow have prominent hinge forward from the hips. Lead dramatically absorbs follow's right hand all the way back to hip. Close body position. Significant offset. On the one the lead does a swirl with his back left leg and simultaneously brings the right heel in. On one the follow kicks forward and across her body narrowly missing the lead's right knee. On 5 lead kicks out with a straight leg at an angle outside the partnership. Not a lot of movement forward and back. Partnership rotation while in face to face has a beautiful look to it. Only two weight changes - on 3 and on 7. Pulsing on every beat. Come around is done with both lead and follow doing a back rock step on 5, so it is 5 - rock 6 - step 7 - step/pivot (lead's rock step is also to his right to aid in setting up rotation). Lead steps outside of the follow entirely. Circle can be done out of this with a rock step kick step step step kick step. Swingout can be done with rock step step forward with split weight and then on the pulse of 4 you're all the way on left foot. Think about driving with the rotation of the hips. For the leads, the hips lead the shoulders.
