Hinitsa is a small island south of Porto Heli, at the entrance to the Argolic Gulf. According to the 2011 census, it has two inhabitants. There are two bays on the island that are used to anchor small boats. The island was called Aloussa in ancient times, a name that comes from the name of the neighboring ancient city, the Fishermen. Pausanias mentions it. According to one opinion, its name results from the corruption of ancient Alioussa (Aloussa, Haloussa because of the forest, Chalitsa, Hinitsa).
In front of the island there is a beach of the same name with a holiday settlement of the same name, which according to the 2001 census has 37 inhabitants. Hinitsa belongs to the municipality of Kranidi, in the urban district of Porto Heli.
