Did you know that when you sell a home in Massachusetts, as the home seller you are responsible for obtaining a smoke detector certificate?

As your Realtor, I like to make the process as stress free as possible and that includes handling your smoke certification process for you.

Many folks are simply not in the know of what is needed to pass this inspection. And, the big box stores are not helpful - they sell many smoke detectors that do not meet the standards to pass. That's why I like to purchase mine from Highland Hardware and Bike Shop in Holyoke. They only sell photoelectric detectors with 10-year hardwired batteries. If you don't see the "P" with the square around it, it will not pass!
