Throwing a Cylinder on the Potter’s Wheel - The 3 Cs - Part 3
Cylinders are the foundation of most pottery forms, master this shape and the pottery world's your oyster.
When learning to throw I would repeat this form over and over and over, not hoping to actually make anything just to practice the techniques of making a cylinder, tall ones, short, ones, fat ones, thin ones. I understand the need to want to actually have something to take away from a throwing session but the thing is my friends - you will! the hours of practice will give you skills. THAT is what hours on the wheel will gift to you 😘
