Ingredients For Panna Cotta
1 cup of whole milk
2 cups of heavy cream
1 - .25 ounce packet of unflavored powdered gelatin
⅓ cup of white sugar
1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract
Ingredients For Strawberry Puree
2 lbs of fresh strawberries
4 Tablespoons of water
⅔ cup of white sugar
NOTE: If you are not doing your Panna Cotta in a slanted design then your strawberry puree ingredients will be cut in half.
Directions For Panna Cotta
Place milk in a small pan. Sprinkle the powdered gelatin evenly over the surface. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Place the pan with gelatin on low heat until gelatin dissolves. Do not let boil.
In a medium saucepan add your heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat on medium and let simmer until the sugar dissolves.
Remove the pan from the heat. Add your gelatin mixture and stir until smooth.
Let cool, then add to serving glasses.
If you want to do your panna cotta in a neat slanted pattern follow the directions below.
Place a towel in a muffin tin. Then sit your glasses in the muffin tin openings tilted at a 45° angle.
Pour your panna cotta in each glass until at least half full, being careful not to let it spill out.
Place the muffin tin in the refrigerator to chill for 4 hours to overnight.
Wash your strawberries, remove the tops, and cut into quarters.
Add your strawberries , water, and sugar to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Then reduce the heat to low and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove the strawberry mix from the heat and let cool.
Add the strawberry mix to a blender and puree for 30 - 45 seconds. Run it through a sieve to remove the seeds. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Once your panna cotta mix has set fill the remainder of the glass with the strawberry puree.
Garnish your panna cotta and serve. Enjoy!!
