→ A Labour Brexit is basically a Tory Brexit
NO REAL CHANGES TO BREXIT UNDER LABOUR – 1-minute video
Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, couldn’t have been clearer about Brexit on today’s Andrew Marr Show.
Under The Labour Party, there will be no rejoining the EU and no major changes to the Tory Brexit deal or arrangement.
Sir Keir’s mantra is: ‘Make Brexit work’.
Doesn’t he realise that no version of Brexit can be made to work?
Even the government’s own assessments confirm that ALL versions make Britain worse off.
Sir Keir mentioned “sensible adjustments” that could be made to the Brexit agreement over the years.
But as Andrew Marr pointed out, even that “requires a mass renegotiation of the Treaty”.
Which, of course, Sir Keir has fundamentally ruled out.
Sir Keir said that the “one thing” he has learnt over the past six years is that if you are out of the EU:
“you are constantly talking to and adjusting the arrangements between Britain and the EU. That is the nature of the beast.”
Which basically means that, under Labour, there would never be an end to Brexit; there would never be closure or a conclusive resolution.
A never-ending Brexit. Just the same as with the Tories.
I can see the election slogan now:
“Why vote for a copy-cat Brexit when you can get the original version under the Tories?”
Labour, please wake up. Oppose the Tories and oppose Brexit.
Britain needs a radical and fundamental alternative to the current status quo, and not just more of the same.
