Ever since the hunting ban enforced by former leader Nikolai Ceausescu almost 40 years ago, the bear population in the forests of Romania has been steadily increasing.
Bears have become a common sight invading the garbage bins of apartment blocks looking for food and fun. Although illegal in Romania, many bears are being held in captivity under cruel conditions and made to perform in circuses and restaurants.
