On the surface, it doesn't look like a whole lot has changed with the IQ Panel 4. Sure, it's a lot prettier. It's faster. It's louder. But in terms of features and software, it's almost identical to the 2+. But when you dig down under the surface and see all that's going on in the background, you'll see that this really is a huge upgrade.

The IQ Panel 4 now features an 8-core processor. 8 whole cores!! That's double the size of the 2+ processor, which was a 4-core. This insane processor is way bigger than it needs to be for the software set that the IQ Panel 4 has at the time of recording this video (September 2021). But it makes a lot of sense when you factor in firmware updates.

The IQ Panel 2+ that we know and love today didn't start out with all the features that it now has. It grew over time through a series of software updates. But the panel has grown so much that it's pretty much reached a limit in terms of hardware. That's where the IQ Panel 4 comes in. With this all new hardware, the IQ Panel 4 has a ton of room to grow.
