Lecturer, teacher, founder of the Conscious Breathing concept and author of Conscious Breathing, Anders Olsson recounts the time he couldn’t breathe through his nose for a week. On purpose.

Speaking on the Oxygen Advantage® Podcast with Patrick McKeown and Daniel Pålsson, Anders was taking part in a mouth breathing experiment approximately 10 years ago.

He took part in the experiment in Stanford University in the USA along with James Nestor author of the bestselling book ‘Breath’.

Admitting that he had “mixed feelings” going in to the experiment because he did not like having his nose blocked, Anders said his curiosity pushed him forwards and it was a worthwhile.

He said the changes were quite noticeable with increased stress, disturbed sleep and increased sugar cravings as well as many more.

It is a great insight into the importance of nasal breathing as promoted by the Oxygen Advantage®.
