Ali SHABANOV est né en en 1989 au Dagestan.
Il lutte depuis 2011 pour l'équipe nationale Biélorusse.
Il a participé aux Jeux Olympiques de Londres en 2012 dans la catégorie très relevée des 66 kg ou il sera éliminé par l'Azerbaïdjanais Jabrail HASANOV
Ali obtient la médaille de bronze aux championnats du monde dans 3 catégories différentes 70 kg, 74kg à deux reprises et 79kg.
Depuis 2019 il lutte dans la catégorie des 86 kg ou il s'est classé 3ème au championnat d'Europe et 2ème aux Jeux Européens.
