What is Synthetic Marijuana / K2?
A synthetic version of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, K2 is a combination of plant material sprayed with synthetic psychoactive chemicals. Synthetic marijuana or K2 is a designer drug that is usually smoked in joints or blunts.
Reported user negative effects include palpitations, paranoia, intense anxiety, nausea, vomiting, confusion, poor coordination, and seizures. The worst part is that the ingredients and strength of products containing synthetic cannabinoids are almost impossible for the user to know.
In today’s video, Robert explains the adverse effects of synthetic marijuana or K2, with kidney disease. He dives deep into how K2 can seriously damage your kidneys.
There have been a lot of case reports coming out in multiple journals about K2. It’s an over-the-counter herb that has been sprayed with a chemical, mimicking the ‘high’ of marijuana but it’s actually a synthetic to the marijuana that can be very harmful to your kidneys.
Many reports addressing acute kidney injury because of synthetic marijuana have been on the rise over the past couple of years. K2 is also sold in a lot of places over-the-counter. Although the people who used K2 didn’t end up on dialysis, they still ended up damaging their kidneys.
We highly discourage the use of K2 / Synthetic Marijuana because you run the risk of damaging your kidneys. Use and abuse of these products have been linked to acute kidney injury in victims across the country. If you’re already dealing with kidney disease, your kidneys may not be able to bear the stress coming from K2. Avoiding K2 at all times is the best thing you can do for yourself, with or without kidney disease.
