Ben & Jerry's isn't giving up on its plan to withdraw from the West Bank without a fight — and neither is the company's parent.
The ice cream giant is suing Unilever after the latter sold its Israeli operations to American Quality Products, Ltd., an Israeli franchise that will continue to sell Ben & Jerry's in the West Bank, last week.
The board of directors at Ben & Jerry's claims that the decision to sell the company to Unilever was made without their knowledge or approval, and the company issued a statement on Tuesday saying that the sale must be halted to preserve the brand's reputation. The sale is something the lawsuit hopes to put a stop to.
