Repairing an old Simpson analog meter. This meter was from my and my son's collection of retro electronics. Just wanted to pull it apart and see if I could get it working again. [ Ссылка ]
POINT OF INTEREST FROM THIS VIDEO: In this video, there is a part where we are trying to solder one of the old 9v lead wires. It was tarnished and solder would not adhere. After looking into it, the negative leads tend to oxidize to black copper carbonate when heating occurs. Thus, leading to a significant tarnish or layer on the copper conductors that is black or dark instead of green. This is what preventing solder flow and adherence to the conductors. Copper carbonate is much tougher and soldering conductors with this coating is impossible. We replace them in the video.
