The Dance of Cleves, a Burgundian dance tune. It's one of the many basse dances in the Brussels Bibliothèque Royal Albert 1, a stunning manuscript prepared at the end of the fifteenth century for Marguerite of Austria . We recorded this while warming up for our concert of medieval and Tudor dance music at the Gildhouse in Poundstock, earlier this summer. It's performed here on a medieval transverse flute and a bray harp.
